The ideal candidate will have prior experience as a prosecutor or public defender and a strong understanding of the Florida Rules of Criminal Procedure.Duties:Manage every stage of the criminal defense proceedingsHandle discovery matters and conduct motions practicePrepare for and attend depositionsAttend court for pre-trials, motion hearings, and trialsDevelop case-specific legal strategies to advocate for clientsEffectively communicate and work closely with clientsManage a full caseloadRequirements:The former prosecutor or public defender preferred3+ years of experience handling general criminal defense casesA Florida Bar license is requiredStrong understanding of the Florida Rules of Criminal ProcedureCriminal trial experienceEducation Certifications:Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law schoolFlorida Bar licenseSkills:Excellent oral and written communication skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlinesAttention to detail and accuracyStrong negotiation skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a team
