We're on the lookout for a passionate and driven individual seeking a challenging opportunity. In this exciting new role, you'll collaborate closely with a small, dynamic team to craft and execute a comprehensive recruitment and training strategy for our Forensics division. As a key member of the team, your duties will entail supervising the Forensic Recruitment and Training team, evaluating and refining proposed processes, introducing innovative methodologies, and ensuring the efficiency of existing procedures. This position is tailor-made for individuals who excel in organization, possess a keen interest in talent acquisition and training enhancement, and are adept at navigating advancements in technology. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Specific duties include: Directing the activities of members to ensure the general quality and efficiency of the work performed; Monitoring adherence to the highest level of quality work product; Coordinating daily section activities, ensuring the equitable distribution of workload and establishing priorities; Creating a collaborative working environment among members through open and effective communication; Establishing and communicating job related performance standards, and conducting performance appraisals; Providing the Chief of Forensic Services with technical and administrative input; Complying with all department, regional, laboratory and section policies and procedures; and Performing other related duties as required by the Chief of Forensic Services, Director of Forensic Services or Special Agent in Charge. To be considered as a potential candidate, you must meet the minimum qualifications(s) listed below. Degrees must be from an accredited college or university as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 1. A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in forensic science, criminalistics or in a physical or natural science; 2. Completion of a Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) Crime Laboratory Analyst training program (or a comparable training program); 3. Three years of professional experience in a crime laboratory analyst class (or equivalent class). KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Knowledge of FDLE’s policies and procedures, laboratory policies and accreditation requirements; Knowledge of the principles and practices of quality assurance and quality control; Knowledge of FDLE's selection criteria; Skills in communicating with, leading, and motivating members; Skills in appraising the performance of others; Skills in communicating with the Chief of Forensic Services on laboratory and personnel matters; Skills in establishing and maintaining cordial working relationships with members and applicants; Ability to monitor the quality of work product; and Ability to establish and maintain attendance and leave. BASE SALARY: $ 75,000.00 NOTES: Starting salary will be at the minimum of the class pay range, unless otherwise dictated by FDLE's pay policy.
