The Cook will work as an integrated member of the Bohemian Club Team to provide high quality meals to members and their guests. We are looking for "utility players" who are ambitious and eager to learn in a professional environment. The position requires teamwork and a continuous positive attitude. In exchange for your hard work, you will receive excellent (resume enhancing) industry experience, competitive pay, and the opportunity to work for a Certified Master Chef. We are currently seeking: Banquet Cooks, Prep Cooks, and a AM A La Carte Lunch Cook. Availability on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (strongly preferred) and occasional Friday and weekend hours. Duties: Practice sound cooking fundamentals. Follows established schedules in cooking, baking, sanitation, and related activities. Practice and demonstrates proper safety and sanitation Qualifications: Must understand: Methods, materials, and practices of volume food preparation. Sanitary methods used in food preparation and related activities. Ability to: Communicate in English both verbally and in writing. Sustain a strong sense of energy and focus. Multitask and quickly adapt to priority shifting. Display proper knife skills and techniques. Use standard food preparation utensils such as knives, spoons, tongs and whips. Operate power driven equipment such as a meat slicer or mixer. Bend or stoop repeatedly over time, such as removing items from stove, oven or refrigerator. Clean work area and equipment. Move objects between 20-50 pounds over short distances (20 feet or less). Learn job-related material primarily through oral instruction and observation which takes place mainly in an on-the-job training setting. Remain in a standing position for extended periods of time. Work cooperatively with other employees and work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others. Culinary education or certificates preferred 1+ years Cook experience Will consider current culinary students or new culinary graduates Must join the union Unite Here Local 2 within 30 days of start date Job Posted by ApplicantPro
