Vera French is looking for a Full-time Cook to join our Dietary team at the Residential Care Facilities! As the Cook you would be responsible for preparing food in accordance with the food service menus and preparing special diets per orders from a physician. Vera French respects the critical work done by our Dietary team and has recently adjusted the pay scale for all current and new cooks joining our team. WHAT YOU'LL DO: Ensures sanitary working conditions in the kitchen and dining room Ensure minimal nutritional levels as directed Prepare items necessary for next day menus Maintain special dietary knowledge to prepare and serve any dietary change WHAT YOU'LL NEED: High school diploma or equivalent preferred ServSafe Certification or ability to acquire within six (6) months of hire required Minimum of one year's experience in institutional cooking required Ability to work with special needs of facility and community residents Ability to follow oral and written directions. Our Direct Support Staff work one-on-one with our clients to reach their goals and teach them daily living skills to promote physical and emotional health. Learn and Grow: Vera French offers various in-house training opportunities CPR, Medication Management and other trainings through our learning management system. To encourage our staff to continue their education, Vera French also offers a Tuition Reimbursement and Loan Repayment program for all employees after one year of employment.
