Controls Technician

Beck Automation, a division of The Bradbury Group, designs and creates control systems for manufacturers to interact with and control their machines. The control systems we design incorporate robotics, PLCs, electrical cabinets, VFDs, Servo Drive/Motors, feedback devices, and many other control components. As one of our Controls Technicians, you will see through the entire process: inception, management, development, and commission. You will be an integral part of installing and enhancing these controls. We are looking for a Controls Technician to install and support our control products. Salary: $50,000 - 70,000/year Our Controls Technicians work on the following to make this happen: Write PLC programs to control a machine/line Write HMI programs to interface the machine/line to an operator for control Create electrical diagrams Help gather analytical data from machines/lines Commission controls/lines Manage projects Design and program robotic systems Most of our products have PLC/HMI based interfaces. The skills below are necessary to be successful in the position. While we can teach some of these skills, having some formal knowledge is desired: Design/Programming: RSLogix Studio 5000 Programming HMI Layout/Design/Programming Work with AC Motor/Servo Motor Control Develop Operating Manuals and Troubleshooting Guides Electrical Panel Design Manage: Meetings with Clients, Vendors, and Staff to make product improvements Work with customers to integrate Controls Work closely with other Technicians to Design Large Control Systems Manage Groups of People while Commissioning a Project Robotics: Industrial Robotic Programming Robotic cell design Robot Setup and PLC Integration Interfacing Robotics with Machines Safety guidelines With this job, you will oversee projects from start to finish and get results in real time. You will be challenged and constantly working on improving your skills in an engaging learning environment. You will also have access to a team of people who are knowledgeable and will help you advance when you run into roadblocks. Travel: This position requires travel (company-paid), an average of 20-25%, mostly weekdays.
