EAD supports clients' projects on hundreds of systems in industrial manufacturing facilities specializing in food, pharmaceutical and parcel. This opportunity will enable you to enjoy a fast-paced environment working on projects of all sizes and complexities! EAD Controls is looking for an experienced Controls Designer to assist in the design of control panels in a UL508A Panel Shop. Candidates will also work with our engineering department to design construction documents. Responsibilities Draft and design Control Panels, Network Systems, and Field Wiring utilizing AutoCAD Read & understand electrical wiring and mechanical layout drawings Ability to become OSHA 10-Hour certified Interface with clients, vendors, construction administrators, and project team Perform and document technical design reviews with other disciplines on the project team to produce the highest level of quality Perform heat calculations on panel designs Capable and experienced in managing and performing projects in a fast paced environment Time manage and prioritize tasks to achieve results within cost and schedule constraints Create network architecture drawings, device location plans and schematic drawings as a member of a project team To continually improve personal knowledge regarding product knowledge, building services and all aspects of control panel design and manufacture Perform other related duties as assigned Requirements: Associates degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; and/or four years of service with the military with relevant working experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience Experience using AutoCAD with AutoCAD Electrical Experience with EPLAN is a plus Experience fabricating control panels is a plus Flexible approach Ambitious Existing UL508A MTR qualification or the ability to become qualified. Able to work efficiently and manage time effectively Must be quality driven Experience with MS Windows based operating systems and applications required Excellent written and verbal communication skills with Clients and in-house support staff Demonstrated independent worker requiring minimal direction Able to set priorities, and organize work to meet project deadlines Self-starter with strong attention to detail Possess and able to maintain a valid drivers license Ability to multi-task while working on numerous projects simultaneously Proficient in Microsoft Office Working Conditions: Office, plant, or client site environment* Ability to sit and work at computer for extended periods of time Ability to walk up numerous flights of stairs/ladders multiple times a day and/or work in tight spaces in extreme conditions May work near moving mechanical parts and equipment* Office, Commercial and/or Industrial setting with the potential of exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals* Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.* Periodic weekend, holiday or evening work, as needed Travel required *EAD will provide training, administrative/engineering controls, and personal protective equipment, as necessary.
