The Controller will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the finance department, servicing as the primary point of contact between our nonprofit healthcare organization and our billing company, outsourced finance company, and other business partners. This individual will be responsible for managing Accounts Payable, insurance claims processing, and other business functions within the finance department, as well as overseeing the department and coordinating with external partners. Key Responsibilities Oversee the day-to-day operations of the finance department. Act as the liaison between the organization and the billing company, outsourced finance company, and other business partners Ensure claims are processed cleanly and efficiently, with an extremely keen knowledge of the intricacies of the insurance payers Collaborate with the consulting company on the Hospice Cost Report Coordinate the annual audit and tax preparations process. Manage Accounts Payable, including vendor relations and invoice processing. Creating and entering Payroll related financial information. Develop and implement financial policies and procedures Provide financial analysis and support to other departments. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations Monitor financial performance and identify areas of improvement. All other duties as assigned. Experience and Educational Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field 3-5 years of experience in a similar role Strong analytical skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Experience in healthcare finance role Hospice experience helpful but not required.
