Summary : Under the supervision of the Chief Executive Officer, the Controller/Finance Manager carries out accounting functions and supports multi-departmental reporting, grant management and budgeting requirements. Performs professional level work in analyzing accounting and budgetary data, preparing internal financial reports and supports the submission of the Consolidated Fiscal Report (CFR). Agency Performance: Monitor monthly performance, establish budgets in collaboration with executive leadership team and division directors, create key performance metrics, communicate actual performance versus budget, and forecast. Analyze and proactively problem-solve in collaboration with the leadership team. Present timely, accurate financial information to the Executive Leadership Team, Division Directors, Finance Committee of the Board, and Board of Directors. Cash Flow: Monitor and forecast the cash position weekly using a 13-week model. Establish the necessary policies and procedures for spending approvals in collaboration with the Leadership Teams. Grant/Program Performance : Assists in the preparation of the Agency's grant budgets. Submit financial reports as required by the funding sources. Monitor grant to date spending to ensure maximization of revenue available and communicate with Program Leadership. Payroll: Oversee payroll process for all employees. Ensure internal controls are in place within the finance team for all payroll processes including, but not limited to, processing of accurate payroll deductions and employee reimbursements. Financial Relationships: Establish and maintain lines of communication with bankers, monitor and assess bank arrangements, manage reporting required by banking relationships, and help plan for capital needs. Compliance: Responsible for the financial aspects of all agency transactions. Manage financial records retention. Prepare statutory monthly close and financial reports. Ensure audits are completed on time. Coordinate the preparation of Federal and State Tax Returns for Ibero and its Affiliates. Assure compliance with acceptable accounting practices and procedures including a robust internal control structure. Policies & Procedures: Review, update, and document financial processes and other processes related to committing the Agency to financial obligations. Become familiar with best practices in the not-for-profit world and deploy improvements where needed. Accounting: Manage the monthly closing process. Prepare, review, and analyze account reconciliations. Oversee and participate in the preparation and coordination of the Agency's Annual Audit. In addition, assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures. People Leadership : Responsible for providing leadership to the finance team. Assign responsibilities, review results, and document performance evaluations. Develop plans and provide opportunities for skill development. Authority: This individual must be resourceful and able to display initiative and understanding of computer programs, and financial reporting. Communication, Oral - Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word. Communication, Written - Ability to communicate in writing clearly and concisely. Friendly - Ability to exhibit a cheerful demeanor toward others. Skills and Abilities: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. Five to seven years of related experience. Knowledge of Budgeting, Financial Reporting and Fund Accounting. Proficient with Excel and Accounting software (Fund EZ). Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred but not required. Physical Demands: The position does require occasional standing, squatting, lifting of up to approximately 10 lbs.
