Summary : The Level III Information Assurance Specialist will support the client to continually monitor the organization's information security posture, vulnerabilities, and threats to inform organizational risk management decisions. Responsibilities: Take the lead in policy development, task planning and requirements development for the customer's Continuous Monitoring program Provide the customer with recommendations on implementation/polices for RMF step 6 monitoring Lead a team of two other Level II Information Assurance Specialists for continuous monitoring Implements and develops DHS IT security processes and policies. Specifically related to vulnerability identification and management, POA&M management, continuous monitoring, and risk management processes. Proposes process and/or technical improvements to DHS CISA processes and policies Performs risk analyses, which also includes risk assessment Reviews scans for completeness, anomalies, open ports, encryption in use, identified vulnerabilities, authorized accounts, privilege accounts, and SSL configuration settings, system configuration compliance Reviews and validates POA&Ms. Collaborates with ISSOs and ISSMs to monitor, manage and close POA&Ms Identify and document vulnerabilities. Recommend remediations Support Agency level FISMA reporting Supports CM Working Group (CMWG) meetings discussing related information on CM processes and divisional/branch level feedback. Perform all actions necessary to set up the event to include: reserving rooms and conference lines, gathering material from presenters and using said material to put together the presentation and agenda material. Recommend analytics enhancements to further the continuous monitoring mission of the customer Qualifications: Working knowledge of the following areas is required: understanding of business security practices and procedures; knowledge of Splunk, Tanium and Tenable; hardware/software security implementation; DHS security configuration standards. Experience in the following areas is required: POA&M analysis/tracking, Authorization and Accreditation, vulnerability management, security scanning 10+ years of experience required Currently holds, or able to obtain, DHS suitability B.S. degree in a related field. Ten (10) additional years of IT Security related experience to include a minimum of two (2) years of FISMA experience may be substituted for BS degree. Experience meeting with the customer and contractor personnel to formulate and review task deliverables Experience managing personnel ranging from 2 to 5 team members and delegating responsibilities to subordinates and overseeing the successful completion of all assigned tasks.
