Job Title Construction Supervisor for a Non-Profit Youth Vocational Training Program FLSA Status Non-Exempt; Full time plus benefits Compensation Negotiable (based on experience) POSITION SUMMARY: The Construction Supervisor will provide oversight for all classroom and hands-on construction training utilizing the Multi-Craft Core Curriculum (MC3). He/She will supervise the daily activities of at-risk youth ages 17 to 24 to provide a standards-based, rigorous instructional program focused on guiding youth to learn professional behaviors by creating a student-centered learning environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Conducts hands-on construction training and develops written lessons plans that coincide with the daily classroom instruction; Develops and maintains relationships with the building trades representatives and assists youth in applying for Registered Apprenticeships; Supervises off-site construction projects, including oversight of students; Teaches proper use, handling, and maintenance of all hand tools, power tools, and equipment; Responsible for purchasing program materials to be used in the classroom and for off-site training; and, Performs other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Minimum of 5 yrs. experience in the construction industry; NCCER, MC3, or PACT Certification is highly desirable, Must be experienced in all aspects of the construction industry including masonry, carpentry, drywall, plumbing, electrical, etc.; Ability to work well in a team-based environment, independently, and with students; Experience supervising or teaching construction workers required; Able to pass a background check and drug test; and, Possess a vehicle and a valid California Driver's License Our highest priority has always been to keep our employees and students safe and healthy.
