Construction Safety Manager Local Candidates Preferred Our Opportunity The Construction Safety Manager will work with staff and management from multiple locations to implement our safety and health programs. You will act as a subject matter expert to develop and implement action plans, processes, and procedures to control environmental, safety & health risks for all Max-Tech employees at all locations. Key duties include: Develop, implement, and oversee safety programs to meet regulatory standards and company guidelines. In conjunction with Human Resources, conduct investigations of any incidents, documenting details and preparing corrective action reports, incident reports and root-cause analysis. Analyze accident information, identify trends and key problem areas, and implement continuous improvement plans with the assistance of Human Resources and Max-Tech leadership. In conjunction with Management and Human Resources, oversee injury management and return to work. Ensure first reports of injury are filed correctly. Work with employees and their health care providers to receive appropriate care after injuries and to get them back to work in a timely manner. Oversee injury investigations and, for more serious injuries/incidents, conduct the investigations. Conduct regular safety audits, identify and evaluate hazards in the workplace, and recommend solutions to minimize or eliminate risk and to ensure regulatory compliance. Oversee safety and health training for all sites. That will include defining what training is needed for employees in different jobs. It may include conducting training, providing guidance to local offices on required training, or arranging for outside trainers. It will include working with local offices to ensure these are done: toolbox talks, jobsite briefings, regular safety meetings, and required and recommended training. Ensure respirator users receive training and fit testing. Ensure crane users are certified. Track MaxTech's safety and health performance. Complete OSHA 300 logs, for company president signature. Conduct incident and injury analyses. Audit implementation of safety programs. Oversee our fleet safety program. Ensure that employees who drive company vehicles maintain the appropriate licenses. Working with 3rd party compliance service or local management to correctly maintain driver files. Compile driver logs and vehicle inspection reports and review for consistent and correct execution. Ensure all vehicles are compliant with DoT regulations and undergoing correct preventative maintenance programs. Ensure proper registration and insurance renewal of company vehicles and annual inspection of all DOT trucks. Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, local legislation and codes, and policy governing the Fleet and employee Health and Safety. Stay current with technical manuals, literature, and technical advancements of the trade as it pertains to Safety and Fleet. Track and file all compliance paperwork, titles, registrations. Audit insurance schedules. File annual, quarterly, and other reports as pertinent. Ideal candidate should have: Bachelor’s degree in a related field 3-5 years of experience in a Safety position, preferably in a construction environment CSP, ARM, CHST designation preferred Knowledge in DOT regulations and hours of service/logging requirements Proficient computer skills required including Microsoft Office Suite and PowerPoint Demonstrated successful ability to build positive relationships and partnerships within department, across the organization Experience working in a multi-state environment preferred. Excellent organizational skills, including ability to multi-task and prioritize workload. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with internal and external customers Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record What’s In It For Me?
