The City of Pflugerville is seeking its next Construction Inspector I/II/III to join our team! As a Construction Inspector for the City, you will be carrying out all responsibilities in accordance with clearly established departmental policies and procedures, City codes and ordinances, and state and federal regulations . Essential duties and responsibilities include: Must have a general knowledge of land development construction practices. Understand the general procedures for the installation of pavement and underground utilities. Ability to monitor street course density and moisture tests; prepare and maintain related inspection records. Ability to monitor water and wastewater pressure and leakage tests; prepare and maintain related inspection records. Perform daily inspections of all materials and workmanship of development and utility projects as assigned to ensure compliance with approved plans and city specifications. Ability to effectively communicate with utility providers, contractors, and project managers about required adjustments or identified deficiencies. Ability to read, understand, and be familiar with all approved construction plans and city specifications. Ability to identify and present possible solutions for project-related complications to project managers. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Skill Requirements: Construction Inspector I $49,706-$77,044 High School diploma or equivalent. College-level courses in construction technology or equivalent are desirable. 0-3 years of experience. Valid Class C driver's license Obtain within the first year and maintain; Water and wastewater Class D*, Excavation safety awareness for utilities, Confined space awareness, and Work zone safety for utilities. Construction Inspector II $52,191 - $80,896 High School diploma or equivalent. College-level courses in construction technology or equivalent are desirable. 3-6 years of experience. Valid Class C driver's license Water and wastewater Class C Stormwater basic Construction Inspector III $54,801 - $84,941 High School diploma or equivalent. College-level courses in construction technology or equivalent are desirable. 6 plus years of experience. Valid Class C driver's license Water and wastewater Class C Stormwater basic Environmental Factors and Other Physical Requirements (Work Environment): Will be required to work in settings with extreme cold or extreme heat, depending on the time of year. Benefits Overview: 10 hours of vacation leave per month. 8 hours of sick leave per month. Medical insurance and benefits provided at zero premium cost to the employee. 50% employer dependent health benefits premium contribution. Dental benefits are provided at zero premium cost to the employee. 24 hours of paid personal holiday leave each fiscal year. 10 wellness hours each fiscal year. Retirement plan includes a 7% contribution of an employee's gross salary to the Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS) with a City contribution match of 2 to 1 (14%) at retirement. Military leave.
