Temporary employees are needed for the following area: Guest Services. This is an ideal opportunity for anyone looking to work in a constantly changing fast paced environment. Performs a variety of routine clerical duties. Makes periodic rounds of buildings and grounds for protection against fire, theft or other losses. Sweeps, scrubs and polishes floors for maintenance of the buildings and grounds on the Illinois State Fairgrounds. Moves heavy equipment and office equipment including chairs, desks, file cabinets, and transports machinery to garage for major repairs. Picks up garbage and hauls manure. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above. Minimum Qualifications Requires knowledge, skills and mental development equivalent to the completion of eight years of elementary school. Conditions of Employment May require possession of an appropriate valid driver's license. May require good physical condition to perform strenuous manual labor tasks for 6.5 hours or more. May require ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. May require the ability to stand for 6-8 hours. May require the ability to use Microsoft Office products. May require the ability to receive payments from customers. Work Hours: VARIES Work Location: 655 Executive Dr, Du Quoin, Illinois, 62832-3850 Agency Contact: Jan Doe Email: XXXX@illinois.gov Phone #:217-888-888 Posting Group: Building, Fleet & Institutional Support We are looking to fill positions in the area outlined below: * Backstage Runner - Assisting at each event behind the scenes; working with fair staff and entertainment to ensure needs are met (Must be at least 21 and possess a valid drivers license) * Parking and Selling - Sell parking passes to fair patrons and direct them to parking spaces * Campground Attendant - Assist with camper's needs (Must be at least 18 and a valid driver's license) * Trams - Drive tractor trams to transport guest around the fair grounds (Must be at least 18 and a valid driver's license) Applications will be scored and ranked from highest to lowest score. Applicants will be offered employment in score order. Applicants scoring 1 or less will only be contacted if necessary to fill any vacant positions.
