Data science is a key part of these discoveries. As a Computational Research Scientist in our computational neuroscience group, you will analyze multi-modal biological datasets from therapeutic projects, working alongside experimentalist and software engineers to deliver important translational insights for pharma and biotech research programs. You will participate in shaping data analytics culture across the company and in developing and prioritizing computational advances that unlock the power of Inscopix imaging data. You will use your knowledge and experience in the field to prioritize investment in and productization of broadly applicable computational methods that will improve efficiency, power, and accessibility of data analytics at scale in both academia and industry. If you enjoy doing preclinical neuroscience research and want to use your computational skills to have a practical and important part in building analysis tools to help others at scale, this could be the right role for you. Responsibilities Collaborates with our neuroscientists and engineers to develop innovative products and powerful analyses of large-scale video & time-series dataLeads external neuroscience data analysis collaborations in industry and academia.Creates and builds exploratory analyses and reports on novel and existing algorithms for analysis of high dimensional brain activity and animal behavior datasets. Assists with integration of new data processing algorithms into existing software products.Connects insights from analysis of brain imaging data to biological meaning and suggests experimental and scientific direction for future studies. Qualifications Qualifications:PhD in neuroscience, physics, bioinformatics, math, statistics, computational biology/genomics, or related field. Strong neuroscience knowledge and working experience if the degree isn't neuroscience focused.Experience designing data visualizations and crafting intuitive figures, presentations, and papers to communicate scientific findings to a broad audience. Deep expertise coding and programming in Python and/or Matlab which includes manipulating, analyzing, and visualizing data. Broad exposure to many analysis methods and statistical approaches including proficiency optimizing machine learning models and data visualizations for deployment in customer-facing products.Enjoys working on a team and applying complex data analysis and machine learning techniques to answer neuroscience questions.Location:Hybrid preferred, remote considered (within Canada or USA). We would prefer this person be based either in the (broadly defined) Greater San Francisco Bay Area or in Vancouver, B.C. to facilitate some in-person interaction with team members working in our labs and offices there. At Bruker, base salary is part of our total compensation. The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is between $97,900 and $130,000 and provides an opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base salary for the role will depend on a several job-related factors, including, but not limited to education, training, experience, the geographic location of the successful candidate, skills, competencies, job-related knowledge and travel requirements for this position.
