The City of Hesperia invites your interest in the following positions: Community Development Technician and Management Analyst. Community Development Technician Duties: The Community Development Technician is represented by the Teamsters Local 1932 and performs a variety oftechnical and related office work associated with the community development and planning permit process including business license issuance and renewal; calculates fees and issues permits; receives and tracks various related applications; assists the public, developers, contractors, architects and land agents at the Community Development counter or via telephone with related permits, building and planning applications; provides information and technical data on planning and business licensing; performs research and analyses of related community development and planning issues.Qualifications: A typical way of obtaining the required qualifications is to possess the equivalent of two (2) years of experience in public works or building inspection, or planning agency providing assistance to the public or three (3) years of responsible, related clerical experience or the performance of related work, and a High School diploma or GED with some directly related college level coursework. Management Analyst Duties: The Management Analyst is responsible for and performs professional administrative and research work of a technical nature in such fields as personnel, budgeting, purchasing, public information, finance, public works and utilities; management and legislative research and analysis; preparation of grants; and program management. The incumbent drafts, coordinates, manages and implements various complex City-wide programs having inter-governmental relationships, serves as liaison with community organizations, legislative bodies and other public or private organizations and performs other related work as assigned.Qualifications: A typical way of obtaining required qualifications is to possess the equivalent of three (3) years of relatable experience in government performing a wide variety of professional level analytical activities, one (1) year of local government experience in a City Manager’s Department desirable; a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in public administration, business administration, or a related field and some responsible experience conducting research and analysis; and a High School diploma or GED.
