Communications Specialist Intern

POSITION SUMMARY The position will be an integral part of our communications team with the goal of elevating our brand presence. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Essential functions include but are not limited to the following: Interview and draft compelling content showcasing client successes. Write content for all publications such as e-newsletters, event programs, brochures, social media, etc. Design and produce all communications. Adhere to brand standards for writing and design. Assist with planning and managing logistics of all events such as trainings, fundraising events, luncheons, etc. Promote all events to increase awareness and participation. Support community outreach programs with volunteers Manage all social channels. Manage content for website. Monitor technology equipment when needed to make sure it is used appropriately and effectively. QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS Demonstrated ability to write compelling and newsworthy stories, articles, and other necessary content. Experience with social media and design platforms. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience with Microsoft programs. Experience with InDesign, Photoshop, Publisher, or transferable skills from other design and layout applications. Excellent organization and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Ability to manage multiple projects at one time. Has obtained, or is pursuing, a bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, communications, media, graphic arts, journalism, or similar field. STATUS This internship is temporary/part-time. This position is onsite and estimated to be around 20 hours a week for approximately 3-6 months (subject to change based on needs). The position may be considered for extension or status upgrade.
