Position Title : Commercial Loan Specialist REPORTS TO : Based on Location (VP/AVP Commercial Lending) SUPERVISES: No JOB STATUS : Non-Exempt JOB GRADE 9: $43,201.60 - $64,812.80 Annually JOB SUMMARY : This employee is responsible for assisting commercial lenders in managing commercial and business lending relationships. This includes collecting documentation from borrowers, processing applications, generating loan documents, working with vendor partners, inputting loans into internal systems, and creating & maintaining loan files. DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES: Demonstrate expertise with all commercial and business lending products, services, policies, and procedures. Represent State ECU to the members in a courteous, professional manner, as well as provide prompt, efficient, and accurate service. Proactively assist commercial lenders with managing commercial and business member relationships. Onboard all new commercial and business loans on internal systems. Create commercial loan files with pertinent documentation for all new commercial and business loans. Review loan packages for accuracy and to ensure that the proper documentation is in file pre-closing and post-closing. Work with vendors to assist with various stages of the commercial loan process, such as title companies, appraisers, etc. Routinely call borrowers to ensure that all of their financial needs are being met. Obtain financial statements, tax returns, and other credit information for new and existing borrowers. Monitor loan reports and work with lender to ensure that loans are being handled as agreed. Manage member communication with high quality standards. Collect documentation from borrowers at loan origination and periodically as required by the loan agreement. Work with Business Services and other State ECU departments for servicing commercial accounts for new and existing borrowers, as needed. Provide general and specific information related to State ECU services and/or policies. Respond to member's requests, inquiries and direct them to the proper person for specific information. Service new and existing commercial and business accounts as assigned. Understand compliance issues, regulations, and attend training as directed or required. Job related travel - ss required. Performs all other duties as assigned. EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have education or experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in related field plus one or more years relevant job experience; alternatively, four plus years of progressive financial institution and lending experience. QUALIFICATIONS: Basic knowledge of loan processing, loan documentation, and lending policy/procedures. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently with little supervision as well as in a team environment. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Strong organizational skills, attention detail, and success working with clients with diverse banking needs. Patience, tact, enthusiasm and positive attitude toward the members and general public. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Applicant must be capable to execute all terms and conditions set forth in the Employee Handbook, including but not limited to: Works in a safety conscious manner which ensures that safe work practices are used in order not to pose a risk to self or others in the workplace. Adheres to policy on Drug Free Workplace. Complies with company policies and procedures as well as local, state and federal regulations. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Requires sitting for long periods of time, some standing, walking, kneeling, stooping, bending, lifting, grasping and fine hand coordination. Visual and aural acuity required. Finger and hand dexterity required. Must be able to lift 15 pounds maximum, with occasional lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Requires ability to remain calm under stressful situations. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
