Primary Job Function: Assists with a variety of commercial HVAC new construction and building retrofits, demonstrating the increasing ability to work independently under the direct supervision of Project Journeyman and/or Commercial Projects Manager, adhering to workmanship standards and company policy, and adhering to all safety standards. Commercial Projects Apprentice #3 is achieved upon demonstration of consistent proficiency in all Commercial Project Apprentice Level #1, and Level #2 skills. A successful Level 3 Commercial Projects Apprentice demonstrates the mechanical ability necessary to complete complex HVAC tasks to workmanship standards and EnviroControl Systems' standard of excellence. A Level 3 Commercial Apprentice maintains a positive attitude, works well with team members, and demonstrates an emerging ability to work independently and assist Project Journeyman in training Leve #1, and Level #2 apprentices. The goal of the Level #3 Apprentice is to transition to Journeyman Mechanical. "Level # Commercial Apprentices answer more directly to the Commercial Project Manager as they assume more independent assignments. A Level #3 Apprentice demonstrates an emerging ability to supervise Level #1/Level#2 Apprentices per project demands. Work Hours: Flexible per project 7:30 am-4:30 pm/5 days (8 hrs) or 7:30 am to 6:00 pm/4 days (10 hrs) -- break and lunch times required by law (Overtime as needed) Pay rate: $23.00-$25.00 an hour Benefits: 65% of health insurance paid, 100% company-paid life insurance,401k match, dental, vision, PTO, paid holiday, Uniform allowance, PPE provided, and boot account Required Qualifications: 18 years of age, high school diploma or GED equivalent Valid Ohio driver's license, and ability to be insured by EnviroControl Systems' insurance carrier Reliable transportation to and from assigned job sites Demonstrates ability to work in the United States through required I-9 documentation Maintains compliance with EnviroControl Systems" Drug-Free Workplace standards Ability to communicate effectively with EnviroControl Systems team members in spoken and written language Demonstrates appropriate aptitude for the position on Job Profile Assessment, if applicable Obtains and maintains all Level #3 required tools per EnviroControl Systems Tool Schedule EPA Certifications required in Levels 1 and 2 Demonstrates proficiency in installing round and rectangular duct Correctly measures duct and installs equipment accessories Demonstrates understanding of complex sheet metal fittings Size and draw duct work correctly Demonstrates understanding of line and low voltage wiring, relays, transformers, and wiring diagrams Demonstrates ability to train and supervise apprentices Attends 3rd-year Apprenticeship training at 95% Correctly sets air handers and furnaces Begins run line sets to workmanship standards Demonstrates beginning knowledge of water piping Correctly completes simple low voltage connections on furnaces, air handlers, air conditioners, RTUs Demonstrates the organization's ability to complete and perform project change orders Demonstrates ability to braze line sets without leaks Works without the supervision of Jobsite Journeyman Project Manager Maintains good standing, Sinclair Community College, HVAC Apprenticeship program Level #3 Demonstrates understanding of layout, design, fabrication, and installation Begin residential & light commercial installations Demonstrates advanced knowledge and practice of tool, testing, and job site safety OSHA 10 Cell phone apprentice, install, HVAC, labor, helper, construction, air conditioning, AC, A/C, heating, furnace, heat pump, entry level, installer, install job, entry level job
