Job Title Collection and Distribution Lead Starting Salary 23.00 Hourly Department Utilities Department Regular Hours Monday - Friday 8AM to 5PM Location Davenport, FL - Public Services Nights and weekends as needed Job Status Non-Exempt; Full-Time; Permanent Position Function/Nature of Work: Under the direction of the Collection and Distribution Superintendent, performs duties necessary to supervise the daily operations and maintenance of the collection and distribution systems and equipment by managing personnel and ensuring compliance with all related Federal and State regulatory guidelines. Responsible for coordinating, developing, and submitting monthly, quarterly and annual reports to State regulatory authorities and Collection and Distribution Superintendent. Essentia l Duties : Supervises and manages the daily operations and maintenance of the collection and distribution systems and equipment by managing personnel and ensuring compliance with all related Federal and State regulatory guidelines. Responsible to plan and coordinate daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements, and provide assistance with the preparation, tracking and implementation of the Division's budget. Responsible assist the superintendent to ensure that appropriate processes are in place and implemented to monitor and adjust system flows, storage level monitoring related to the collection system, and delivery systems. Duties include, but are not limited to, public notifications, and boil water notifications. Responsible assist the superintendent to ensure the proper selection, retention, and training of Personnel. Supervises personnel, develops personnel schedules and assignments, and conducts performance evaluations and disciplinary processes and procedures within established organizational and department guidelines, policies and/or directives. Attends training classes as is required by the State of Florida and as is commensurate with the appropriate level of State licensure for the performance of job duties. Performs additional duties as assigned. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities : Required knowledge and experience is normally obtained through the completion of a curriculum resulting in either a High School Diploma or GED, five (5) to seven (7) years work related experience, and a Class C Drinking Water Operator License are required. Must exhibit attention to detail, accuracy, and safety. Must be able to communicate and present oneself in a professional manner.. Ability to read meters, charts, gauges, instructional manuals, and directions. Ability to perform or learn basic mathematical equations in the performance of analysis and calculation of dosage. Ability to read, interpret and follow technical information, directives, manuals, memos, reports and other work-related materials. Ability to write analysis sheets, reports, inventories, logbooks, purchase orders and work requests. Ability to establish and maintain effective working and professional relationships with City employees and officials, and the general public. Ability to take and follow oral instructions. Ability to work under high demands, short time constraints, and pressure of a fast-paced work environment. Ability to work shift work and respond to emergency call-out. Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of System/Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA). Environment: · Duties are performed primarily within an outdoor and indoor environment or setting. Possible exposure to electrical and chemical hazards; vibration; loud noise; inclement weather; and dust, allergens and mold. Other Requirements: Must be 18 years of age or Must possess a valid State of Florida drivers' Must possess an honorable military discharge if applicant has been service Must be a United States citizen or naturalized Must pas s a physica l examination and drug urinalysis test, background and credit checks. Must not have been convicted of a Must be able to work o v ertime, holidays and on-call duty. Comments: This position may be required to report for work when a declaration of emergency has been declared in Polk County .
