SmartBooks is a leading provider of bookkeeping, accounting, tax, and financial planning and analysis services for small businesses. We are looking to add another Cloud Accountant to our team. This is a great opportunity to develop your accounting career with advancement opportunities. We are not a traditional CPA firm. While we have a tax practice, most of our work is recurring weekly and monthly accounting and reporting. About the Job Opportunity: You will work within a team of 3-5 accountants and bookkeepers, led by a cloud accounting manager, to deliver monthly accounting and financial reporting for clients in a remote Cloud Accounting model. You will be the primary accountant for several clients. You will delegate bookkeeping work to junior cloud accountants and supervise their work while you focus on debits and credits accounting responsibilities including maintaining balance sheet schedules and the monthly close and financial reporting processes. You will work directly with small business owners. Most clients will be small businesses with between $1-to-$10 million in annual revenue. This is not a position for someone seeking to work with big companies or on sophisticated GAAP matters. This is a position focused on delivering reasonable accounting practices with the larger objective of helping clients understand and manage their financial performance. You will work full-time from your home with annual in-person company events. It is a relatively steady 40-hour workweek. You have some flexibility in setting your hours as long as you are responsive to clients. About You: You have 5+ years of debits and credits accounting experience, with a few years in public accounting or other dynamic multi-client environment preferred. You thrive in a dynamic environment with a variety of work and clients and are good at prioritizing and managing toward deadlines. Candidates will be considered throughout Eastern and Central time zones.
