The Coker University Department of Humanities and Social Sciences is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Clinical (Teaching) Assistant Professor of First Year Writing beginning August 2023. This position is a 9-month multi-year teaching position, with competitive salary and benefits. This position reports to the Dean of the College of Humanities and Sciences. Preferred qualifications include a Master's or Ph.D degree in English, Composition and Rhetoric, Digital Writing, or a related field. Candidates should be prepared to teach a variety of writing courses and to contribute interests and ideas for the first year writing program. The primary responsibility of the position is face-to-face teaching assignments at the undergraduate level on the Hartsville, SC, campus; additional online (credentialing preferred) and hybrid teaching are possibilities. The University is seeking an individual who is passionate about teaching; applies inclusive pedagogy; is dedicated to working with students in classroom; desires to develop meaningful, collegial working relationships with students, faculty, and staff across campus; is eager to contribute interests and ideas for student success; and is committed to actively contributing to Coker's mission.
