The Coker University Department of Humanities and Social Sciences and the South Carolina Governor's School for Science and Mathematics (GSSM) are seeking qualified applicants for the position of Clinical (Teaching) Assistant Professor of Chinese (Mandarin) beginning August 2023. This position is a 10-month, multi-year teaching position with competitive salary and benefits. This position reports to the Dean of the College of Humanities and Sciences at Coker and teaches classes at both Coker and GSSM (splitting a 4-4 load evenly). Preferred qualifications include a Master's or Ph.D degree in Chinese (Mandarin) Language or a related field. Candidates should be prepared to teach language and cultural courses and to create and promote cultural events. Ability and willingness to teach other languages is a plus. The primary responsibility of the position is face-to-face teaching assignments at the undergraduate level on Coker's campus and on the GSSM's campus; additional online (credentialing preferred) and hybrid teaching are possibilities.
