Clinical Adjunct in Nursing

Purpose: This position is non-tenure track and employment is offered on a per-semester basis. The Nursing clinical adjunct faculty member will teach in pre-licensure nursing programs in areas of expertise and contribute to the mission and strategic priorities of the institution. Required qualifications: Earned master's degree or higher in nursing. Successful teaching and leadership experience in a nursing education program or clinical educator role in a healthcare setting. Licensed (or eligible) to practice nursing in South Carolina Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in area of expertise Responsibilities of the Position Facilitate effective student learning in the assigned clinical or classroom setting. Provide adequate guidance for students in the clinical setting related to professionalism, practice, and research. Ensure effective evaluations of student practice. Promote evidence-based practice. Provide a supportive learning environment. Provide feedback on student progress to supervisory personnel. Collaborate with other faculty and administration as requested. Collaborate effectively with healthcare partners and their staff. Maintain current knowledge of the nursing curriculum, policies, and requirements. Maintain clinical competence and knowledge in the area of expertise. Attend all required orientation, training, and faculty meetings. Perform other assignments as designated by the Program Coordinator. Collaborate effectively with other faculty and staff members within Nursing and throughout the University and community to develop inter-professional academic, clinical, and research opportunities.
