Are you seeking a career in Public Health? Summit County Public Health is looking for a Clerical Specialist / Front Desk Receptionist . The Front Desk Clerical Specialist provides general clerical support to aide in the efficient operation of Summit County Public Health. Job Duties: Provides coverage for main SCPH reception desk; answers incoming calls for the agency, greets, assists, and provides directions to visitors; receives deliveries and notifies recipients of delivered items. Monitors and responds to external requests for meeting room scheduling and assists with fleet vehicle reservations. Monitor visitor access and maintain visitor logs. May assist with opening, sorting, and distributing incoming agency mail. Verifies and assures agency doors and public meeting rooms are locked and secure at the end of each day. Performs basic clerical tasks and provides routine office assistance. Performs data entry activities as assigned. Completes word processing tasks relating to standards, procedures, forms, letters, and miscellaneous documents. Enters, retrieves & updates information using a personal computer. Maintains excellent attendance and punctuality. Maintains excellent customer service skills; displays interpersonal skills with a diverse customer base, conflict resolution and de-escalation skills, ability to determine customer needs and provide solutions, ability to communicate effectively with diverse customer base, ability to maintain composure in escalated situations. Performs any other duties as required for the efficient operation of Summit County Public Health. Performs job duties under the regulations, policies and procedures set forth by Summit County Public Health and outside agencies such as the County Fiscal Officer, Ohio Department of Health, and state and federal government. Obliges, as set forth by the Summit County Public Health Emergency Operations Plan and within the scope of their employment, to be available for emergency service during routine and non-routine hours of operation including 24/7/365 availability. May be required to have medical clearance for respiratory protection or other personal protective equipment and may be exposed to inclement weather, extreme temperatures, unpleasant smells or odors, dust, dirt, fumes, airborne particles, pesticides, toxins or caustic chemicals. Basic Requirements: This position requires a high school diploma. Current valid Ohio driver's license, automobile availability and insurance coverage. Some prior reception experience preferred. Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee typically works in a normal office environment or community settings but will also complete home visits. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, carry or operate objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms.
