TITLE: Civil Engineer POSITION CLASSIFICATION: Exempt DEPARTMENT: CREA (Culinary Research and Educational Academy) POSITION REPORT TO: VP Operations SUMMARY : Reporting to the VP of Operations, the Civil Engineer is responsible for interacting with various internal team members , OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturing) and contractors to advance projects from process concept to construction & completion. They will offer sound expert technical consultation in every endeavor. EXPERIENCE 4+ years of full- time engineering and construction experience Experience working with civil engineering breadth including site design, structural design, utility, drainage. Knowledge of and experience using CAD/Design software (Microstation and/or AutoCAD/Civil 3D) Experience with development of Life Cycle Inventories Strong experience with developing or updating sustainability programs. Strong project management skills Strong knowledge of food safety requirements Demonstrated experience building strong rapport with clients and suppliers Comfortable performing in a fast-pace environment, with an ability to establish priorities, multitask, manage workload EDUCATION Bachelor's degree of Science in Civil Engineering Eligibility for or in possession of Engineering Certification (EIT) JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare plan sets in team development using AutoCAD Civil3D or AutoCAD LT Platforms Prepare and design improvement plans for a wide range of the projects Prepare and modify construction documents, reports, specifications and designs for project Analyze maps, reports, drawings, as-builts and test results for design projects Assist with post design construction support services to respond to RFI's, submittal reviews, as-built preparation, and field coordination & observations Work alongside office staff and management to successfully complete projects within the established budgets and deadlines Control overall project cost and scope, schedule, and quality of work Ensure all standards and requirements are met in the area of health and safety by reviewing, communicating and managing project health and safety plans so that project personnel, client and subcontractors are aware of risks and hazards, and accidents are prevented Carry out feasibility studies, option studies, infrastructure assessments, design calculations, and assist with the general delivery of projects Organize surveys, site investigations to communicate/liaise with a range of customers, third parties and authorities Interface with suppliers for technical queries Research current, alternative or new cost-reducing manufacturing processes that meet customer and regulatory requirements. Prepare and chair progress meetings within their scope of activity (internal or external) Correspond with the related parties and coordinate work in all relevant disciplines with other departments Follow up the site conditions after implementation, and provide the support and prepare the document which will be needed to execute the maintenance activities & modification requests for the sites Ensure the work complies with Design Risk Assessments, health and safety and environmental requirements Knowledge of local city, county and state land use processes and regulations Perform other duties as may be assigned by management.
