Job Title : CHS Manager, Revenue Cycle Training and Quality Department : Revenue Cycle Reports To : CHS Director, Revenue Cycle Job Summary : The Cayuga Health System Revenue Cycle Training and Quality Manager works as an integral part of the Revenue Cycle team. Responsible for the oversight of the Revenue Cycle Training and Quality team which develops, implements, instructs, and evaluates education and training programs related to revenue cycle. Oversight will include the management of team performance to ensure the achievement of departmental goals. This position collaborates with all departments to ensure training needs are met as well leads the development of revenue cycle quality metrics and quality review process. This individual will foster and drive a culture of patient centered care, quality outcomes, and service excellence in a fast growing environment through the planning, development, and implementation of key training programs and initiatives. Job Responsibilities include : Assign staff to various projects and directs their activities; reviews and evaluates their work and prepares performance reports. Manage resources and budgets to ensure the effective delivery of the curriculum, programs, and processes. Oversee all activities related to training, curriculum design and development, training media/formats, testing and proficiency standards and requirements, creative delivery strategies, quality metrics monitoring and reporting. Collaborate with revenue cycle teams to identify key training opportunities. Leverage data and information gathered from quality monitoring, calibration calls, observations, etc. to identify training gaps and strategically develop learning curriculum. Track progress of training programs and continuously adapt and update the content and cadence as needed, within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Manage the training team to ensure effective education on content knowledge, key operational workflows, quality metric expectations and customer service for both newly on-boarded and existing team members. Ensures the application of relevant learning theories and the use of appropriate channels (e.g., online, instructor led, resource guides, and job aides) to the design, development and delivery of educational material and training classes. Conduct needs assessments, determine gaps in curriculums, and create/execute a strategy to support functions of the business. Process disciplinary actions in accordance with the established policies at CHS Special projects as assigned Requirements :Education: Bachelor's degree with 5 years of revenue cycle experience required. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an Associate's degree with 10 years of revenue cycle experience required. 3 years of supervisory or training experience (preferred) Experience: Minimum 5 years hospital revenue cycle experience Knowledge of the managed care industry including payer structures, administrative rules, and government payers. Knowledge of revenue cycle including, patient access, insurance billing, payer reimbursement, cash posting, collections, denials and guarantor collections. Proficient understanding of medical coding systems effecting the adjudication of claims payment. These include ICD-9, CPT, HCPCS, DRG, APG, APC, and revenue code structures. Must possess knowledge of instructional design and instructional technologies, and learner focused with the ability to develop targeted materials based on learner preferences, characteristics, competencies, etc. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to guide, direct, train and interact with staff and outside contacts. Two years' experience in the management and mentoring of instructional designers/developers, and training facilitators within a healthcare environment. (Preferred) Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment or independently. Must be able to anticipate obstacles to a goal and initiates appropriate resolution. Must have initiative to identify barriers and opportunities and provides solutions through process and operational improvements. Proficient investigation and analytical skills. Able to communicate (both written and verbal) professionally and effectively. Requires exceptional attention to detail and demonstrated ability to prioritize work to ensure accuracy and timely completion. Ability to respond quickly to change Ability to build effective relationships across the System. Must be able to promote team comradery and possess the ability to motivate team members Must maintain professionalism in all duties and interactions Must be motivated to participate in the continued growth and development of the Revenue Cycle.
