Job summary The Middle/High School Spanish Teacher plays a pivotal role in fostering a positive and engaging learning environment for students. This position is responsible for delivering effective and dynamic Spanish language instruction, promoting Christian values, and supporting the overall educational mission of the school. Assessment, feedback, and effective communication with parents are essential components, as well as ongoing professional development to stay current with educational trends. The position requires a strong commitment to Christian values, excellent communication skills, and a passion for shaping the character and academic success of students. The Spanish Teacher will report to the middle/high school principal, providing regular updates on curriculum development, student progress, and departmental needs. He or she will engage in open communication with school administrators, seeking guidance and sharing insights to enhance the overall educational experience. As a member of the faculty, the Spanish Teacher is expected to contribute actively to chapel services and other spiritual development activities. All faculty members are expected to embrace opportunities to integrate Christian values and principles into all aspects of education, fostering a holistic approach to students' growth. Type of Position Full-time exempt employee with salary Required Spiritual Qualities Acknowledge Christ as Savior and seek to live life as His disciple Believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative, inerrant Word of God—our standard for faith and practice Believe and actively support the school’s statement of faith Demonstrate a desire for spiritual growth as evidenced by his or her prayer life, Bible study, and spiritual outreach to others Be a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and actions toward others (Luke 6:40) This includes being committed to God’s biblical standards for sexual conduct Evidence the fruit of the Spirit in dealing with people Share the Christian faith with others Have a Christ-centered home Actively participate in a local Bible-believing church Required Professional Qualities A minimum of an earned bachelor degree in spanish or a related field and prior teaching experience at the middle/high school level Fluency in Spanish and a deep appreciation for the cultural nuances of Spanish-speaking countries Certified or able to receive teaching certification for spanish through ACSI Commitment to Christian values and the integration of faith into the curriculum. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Essential Job Functions Develop and implement a curriculum that aligns with both state standards and the Christian school's educational philosophy. Integrate biblical principles and Christian values into language instruction, demonstrating the relevance of faith in everyday life. Provide engaging and interactive Spanish language instruction to middle and high school students. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and collaboration Provide constructive feedback to students and parents, guiding them on areas of improvement while recognizing achievements. Monitor and track student progress, identifying opportunities for additional support or enrichment. Establish and maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment conducive to effective learning. Implement consistent and fair discipline policies in accordance with the Christian school's code of conduct. Stay current with educational trends and language teaching methodologies. Participate in professional development opportunities and collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices. Communicate effectively with parents, keeping them informed about their child's academic progress and any concerns. Actively engage with the Christian school community, attending events and contributing to the overall school culture.
