Job Summary: The Children's Advocate supports and facilitates the Children's program at our Emergency Shelter. Job Duties Document and notify the Children's Program Coordinator regarding any concerns/issues with the children. Provide childcare during regularly scheduled group sessions. Assist with conflict resolution between children during play time. Facilitate evening childcare services. Facilitate the After School Kids Club & Teens Club Plan and facilitate weekly evening programming for Children's program. Facilitate one AWBW Art project each month. Assist with Music for All Seasons. Supervise Children's Program volunteers as needed. Maintain a clean, safe and healthy play area for children. Provide safety meetings & children's intakes. Entry of Children's Services in tracking system. Deep clean & organize children's classroom each Friday. Assist with preparing program flyers and update weekly events on house monitors. Responsible for monthly/seasonal door decoration Assist with donations, supplies, backpacks, gifts, etc. Assist with planning and hosting of Children's holiday parties & field trips. Maintain/coordinate Family Fun Night projects/game inventory and needs. Fulfill all mandated reporter responsibilities. Provide transportation as needed. Hotline coverage as needed. Provide thank you art for donors on request. Log OS Entries. Other duties as assigned. Additional Responsibilities Preserve confidentiality of all client, staff, volunteer & agency information. Represent the agency in a positive, professional manner at all times Maintain appropriate boundaries with clients and staff. Participate in agency functions as a participant/presenter as required. Education and Experience Associates Degree in Child Development or equivalent experience preferred. 40-hour domestic violence training as required by law (will be provided after hire date). Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Bilingual Spanish preferred Love working with children Excellent oral and written communication skills. Data entry skills Ability to prioritize and multitask CPR & First Aid Job Qualifications Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and appropriate insurance. Fingerprint scan & TB Test Employee will occasionally be required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or fee, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear, taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
