Project Hope Child Specialist- Full-Time Opportunity Location: Charlotte and Desoto Counties Charlotte Behavioral Health Care (CBHC) is our area's largest not-for-profit provider of community-based behavioral health care, offering a full range of mental health and substance use services in Port Charlotte, Punta Gorda, Englewood, North Port, Sarasota, and DeSoto and Lee Counties. Last year, we served over 11,000 individuals and families. CBHC's mission is to partner with our patients to instill hope, inspire growth, and embrace life. CBHC strives to provide compassionate care to individuals with mental health and substance use disorders through a variety of programs. Our goal is optimal behavioral health and improved quality of life for all children, adolescents, adults, and families. Position Summary Charlotte Behavioral Health has a unique opportunity for a Full-Time Child Specialist providing crisis counseling to children and families in the community following hurricane Ian. The child specialist will work as part of a team providing community based services working with individuals and families impacted by the storm . Project Hope offers comprehensive services and supports to individuals residing in Charlotte and Desoto counties who were impacted by Hurricane Ian with improving access to trauma response services as well as access to available community resources. Project Hope offers a team approach to support the community including leadership and administrative staff, counselors, case managers, and peer supports. Services include individual, group, outreach, and community education events. Child Specialist services include Provides crisis counseling services for children, adolescents, and families Parent education Providers training on the effects of trauma on children and their families Establishes relationships with community, day care, faith-based, and school groups provides presentations to community groups regarding disaster reactions, coping skills, and stress management Minimum Requirements: Master degree in counseling or related field Experience working with youth and families Experience with crisis support preferred Must maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct, while adhering to agency policies and procedures Ability to pass Level II Background clearance, drug test (CBHC is a drug free workplace) Computer proficiency Attention to detail Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment in collaboration with other community partners. Valid FL driver's license, insurance, and a safe driving record.
