About Cyclyx Cyclyx International, LLC, is a joint venture formed in January 2021 whose current members include Agilyx ASA, ExxonMobil and LyondellBasell. Cyclyx is leading the development of a comprehensive set of innovations focused on addressing the world's plastic waste problem with the ultimate goal of increasing the recyclability of waste plastics from 10% to 90%. Cyclyx has developed the ability to assess waste plastics by their chemical properties vs object identification and then using its algorithms to make custom blended feedstock for various mechanical and chemical recyclers providing new recycling options that have not traditionally existed. In order to scale the technology Cyclyx has also developed a unique plastic processing facility called the Cyclyx Circularity Center (CCC) to process the waste plastics with new methodologies and has also developed a series of landfill deferral programs to divert waste plastics away from the landfill. The innovations Cyclyx has developed provide a disruptive platform to the existing recycling industry and we are looking for highly motivated, creative and resourceful leaders to join our mission. Job Summary Reporting to the Cyclyx Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Chief Financial Officer will be a key member of the executive leadership team and will be responsible for leading the corporate financial strategy, building required administrative infrastructure, building and driving financial planning, analysis and reporting to help drive the business, will be integral to strategic decision-making processes for the Cyclyx and will maintain the organization's financial integrity and control environments. The CFO will collaborate closely with the CEO, the other senior leaders and representatives from the JV member companies to provide financial insights that will guide operational and strategic initiatives, foster growth, and enhance shareholder/ESOP value. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned finance professional with a proven track record of leading finance teams, contributing to the success of both early-stage and more mature companies as well as having experience implementing financial systems. This role will lead and manage the overall financial operations and functions by understanding the current vision of Cyclyx and developing the financial strategy and corporate controls to account for and ensure all key value propositions and partnerships are aligned and collaborating to successfully meet/exceed the organizational goals. This position is expected to collaborate with the senior leadership team in setting accounting priorities, support the operations of the business to achieve profitability through innovative, day-to-day operations. This position will provide relevant support as needed to ensure that critical business projects remain on track and the business continues toward sustainable growth and the development of real-time solutions for the future of a new circularity recycling industry. In addition, the CFO will work closely with the CEO in preparation and communication of monthly business reviews with the Cyclyx Board. Though not required, it is preferred to have substantial and relative experience in the waste or recycling industry, ideally in plastic recycling, and a track-record of building and scaling new technologies into operational businesses organizations with entrepreneurial experience in startups. Responsibilities Financial Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive financial and investment strategies in support of the company's overall strategic objectives. Evaluate and provide recommendations on investment opportunities, capital projects, new value propositions and risk management strategies. Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes. Financial Reporting and Analysis: Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analyses for internal and external stakeholders. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess financial health and operational efficiency of the organization and its subsidiaries. Present financial data and insights to the executive team and board of directors. Facilitate cooperation with the Auditors and Independent Appraiser for effective and timely completion of annual statement. Treasury and Cash Management: Manage cash flow to ensure liquidity and optimize working capital across the group of companies. Develop and execute effective treasury strategies, including risk management and debt financing. Facilitate relationship with lenders to maximize opportunities for the company. Corporate Governance and Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, reporting requirements, and tax obligations. Implement and maintain robust internal controls and financial policies. Work closely with legal and compliance teams to manage regulatory and legal financial matters. Manage all financial activities to maximize value, ensure adequate repurchase reserves and compliance with regulatory requirements. Strategic Decision Support: Collaborate with business unit leaders to evaluate new business opportunities, acquisitions, and partnerships. Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic initiatives and operational improvements. Financial System Implementation Support: Support the IT and shared services functions in implementing the necessary information technology tools that will allow the organization to scale its transactional and costing capabilities and maintain financial integrity. Support the IT initiatives in assessing and selecting the IT toolsets that meet the needs of the organization and the accounting finance functions. Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth. Mentor and develop finance professionals across the Cyclyx organization. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; MBA and or CPA preferred. A minimum of 10 years' relevant experience in senior financial leadership roles; experience within a holding company or diversified company structure is a plus. Strong understanding of manufacturing and construction industries and related financial considerations. Exceptional financial analysis, forecasting, and modeling skills. Demonstrated ability to drive strategic financial planning and guide decision-making. Excellent communication and presentation abilities, including the capacity to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders. Proficiency in financial software management and implementation, ERP systems, HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Position Mechanics Reports to: CEO Type: Hourly; full time Work Hours: Flexible, but generally 8:00-5:00. Staff: 4-8 Location: Flexible; but Portsmouth, NH or Houston, TX preferred Work environment: professional office environment w occasional visit to operational locations Travel: Up to 40% travel with amount of travel required varying depending on expectations Physical Demands is substantially that of an office environment. Occasional lifting and manual work. Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status.
