Sedona’s Restaurant Inc. DBA Sedona Café & Lounge, at 2296 Cadboro Bay Rd, Victoria, BC, is looking for 1 Chef with over 3 years of commercial cooking experience. This is a full-time position (40 hrs/wk) that may require late evening and weekend shifts. The successful applicant should be friendly, patient, excellent at time management and problem-solving, and able to lift 30 lbs regularly. Duties include the following: • Recommend ideas for specials and seasonal dishes. • Set up and organize kitchen work stations. • Sanitize and clean work stations and utensils. • Prepare ingredients & equipment (oven, grill, utensils) for shifts. Wash & chop vegetables; season meat. • Take orders from wait staff and the computerized system, monitoring multiple orders at a time. • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes. • Supervise cooks and other team members, and assist when needed. • Ensure that food preparation meets health and safety standards consistently• Dress food orders for presentation. • Ensure each guest order has the correct food and sides, and it is delivered to wait staff in timely fashion. • Maintain inventory; reorder food stock and other supplies as needed. • Store all food properly. • Perform related work as required. Qualifications: • At least 3 years of commercial cooking experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and training (i. e. graduation from an accredited culinary arts program). • Food Safe Level 1 and 2 Certification, or ability to gain this certification before starting work. • Chef or Cook trade certification is a major asset, but not mandatory. • Completion of high school.
