OVERVIEW OF JOB DUTIES : (See detailed Job Description for additional information and requirements) Professionally and safely provide support to the Maintenance Department by performing a variety of duties including cleaning, servicing and moving of RFTA transit vehicles and equipment. Primary duties include fueling, cleaning and pullout of buses, not only with conventionally fueled vehicles, but also with very specialized alternative fueled vehicles including Compressed Natural Gas and Battery Electric vehicles. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 1. Ability to safely operate buses, light and medium duty trucks, and forklifts inside and outside of RFTA maintenance facilities;2. Performs routine maintenance (e.g., servicing, fueling, cleaning, and washing) of buses, shuttles and automotive equipment; assists mechanics as needed;3. Cleans interiors of buses (e.g., floors, walls, mirrors, ceilings, carpet and upholstery), both by hand and with pressurized and power equipment;4. Removes, empties, and replaces vaults from fare buses during fueling; downloads data from buses with reader;5. Responsible for the prompt pull out of assigned vehicles;6. Performs street maintenance to facility parking lot and roadway by sanding roads, plowing snow, and assisting with vehicle recovery efforts when necessary;7. Logs data through Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) as needed8. Must be able to follow direction, work safely and accomplish takes independently. QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB REQUIREMENTS: Must possess and maintain a valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License and be able to obtain a Colorado Commercial Driver's License - Class B with a P2 Permit within two (2) weeks of beginning RFTA employment. Basic ability to read, write, and understand English for safety, training, certification, and documentation purposes. Competent in the use of computers and data entry ability. Knowledge of safe material handling and routine maintenance working practices. Ability to learn how to operate all equipment associated with the Vehicle Maintenance Department Solid ability to perform the physical work requirements of this job, which includes manual labor and operation of machinery. Must understand and adhere to departmental, organizational, and industry safety standards and practices, including ability to read, comprehend, and follow instructions on product labels, employee and emergency safety manuals. Ability to successfully complete Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Safety and Operation Training and Certification WORK SCHEDULE & LOCATION : Must be available and willing to work any shift within any 24-hour period on any day of the week. Must be available and willing to work either at RFTA's Glenwood Springs Maintenance Facility and/or at RFTA's Aspen Maintenance Facility. Initial assignment will likely be at the Aspen Maintenance Facility. SALARY RANGE : Starting Salary between $19.78 $26.54 per hour , based on knowledge, skills, certifications, & experience.
