Join our team! Now offering a $10,000 sign-on bonus! Summary Drive a tractor-trailer combination or straight truck to deliver and pick up palletized freight and/or large shipments. Full-time position, Monday-Friday, 1st shift starting at 7:30AM. On average, 10 hours of overtime each week. Paid time and a half after 40 hours worked per week. All routes are home daily. $23-26/hour based on experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Conducts a pre-trip inspection of vehicle before driving to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order Turns in pre-trip form and complete mileage and maintenance forms Delivers palletized freight in a timely manner to customers and pick up freight from shippers Verifies all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate Collects payments for shipments as necessary and returns bill of lading to the office for billing purposes Maintains all required certifications required by DOT and company safety policies Washes exterior of tractor and equipment daily Assists other drivers with loading, delivery, or pick up as needed Education and Experience Must possess a valid CDL Class-A driver's license and have a good driving record Must be 21 years of age Ability to drive a manual transmission and be available for overtime Must possess good customer service and organizational skills Must be able to work independently and make quick decisions Physical Requirements Must be able to pass a DOT physical and lift up to 100 pounds occasionally and 50lbs repetitively. Some overhead lifting is required Full range of motion with no limits on grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, walking, etc Work environment requires time spent outdoors in changing weather elements as well as in a vehicle Work may involve other hazards pertaining to road conditions, vehicle operation and package content EEO and Affirmative Action Statement Spee-Dee Delivery Service, Inc is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
