Syndeo Staffing is searching for the right person to join a family-owned ag-fertilizer supply company as a CDL Driver in El Dorado, KS. This is a direct hire opportunity.CDL drivers are responsible for delivering freight safely and promptly while obeying all Federal and State Department of Transportation regulations and laws regarding operating a Commercial Motor Vehicle. Drivers must be able to reliably commute to and from El Dorado, KS, and travel 100% of the time.Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM Pay: $18-$22 / hour BOE + freight incentive pay Duties & Responsibilities: Safely operate a tractor-trailer truck and/or flatbed. Transport goods and materials to designated locations in a timely and accurate manner. Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, such as forklifts or heavy machinery. Follow all traffic laws and regulations while driving. Comply with all DOT and FMCSA regulations while driving. Inspect vehicles before and after each trip to ensure they are in good working condition. Safe handling of hazardous materials and equipment used on the job. Communicate with dispatchers and other team members to coordinate deliveries and pick-ups. Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel usage, and delivery/pick-up times. Perform routine basic preventative maintenance on company vehicles and equipment as needed. Comply with ICC and DOT regulations. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Education/Certification: High school diploma or equivalent required Must be a minimum of 21 years old at the time of employment due to Interstate regulations Valid CDL Class A Driver’s License Must have or be willing and able to obtain a tanker endorsement Must have a clean driving record, that is, no DUI's and no more than 3 moving violations in the previous 5 years Required Knowledge: Strong knowledge and experience with Federal and State Department of Transportation laws and regulations Proven experience as a Truck Driver Skills/Abilities: Basic mechanical aptitude Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations Must be able to work independently Must be reliable to maintain an irregular work schedule Must be able to lift and move 50 pounds Must be able to pass a DOT physical and a drug screen and possess a valid medical certification Working Conditions: OTR, regional, and local pick-ups and delivery. This will often mean extended time away from home, including overnight and frequent weekends.
