The Arc Ontario CDL Bus Driver Salary: $18.23 -$19.42 Position Overview Love being on the road? Do you enjoy helping others? Looking for a part-time gig being a bus driver? If you are nodding your head, yes, joining the Driving team may be for you! You would provide transportation to persons supported by The Arc Ontario while making some of the best friends you will ever meet! Location: Canandaigua, NY Hours: Part-time. M-F 25 hours per week. Hours vary between 6 am and 4pm to meet program needs Our Culture Investing in our staff while thriving in a flexible and fun work environment! The Arc Ontario Story: Founded in 1954, The Arc Ontario, believes that All individuals with disabilities or other challenges are one with their community. Responsibilities Responsible for safe and timely pickup and delivery of all persons assigned to designated routes while driving a bus. Maintain a valid NYS commercial driver's license (Minimum class C) with an unrestricted passenger endorsement. Maintain a valid DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate and comply with all NYS Vehicle and Traffic laws, NYS DMV 19A rules and regulations. Submit to random, reasonable suspicion, and post collision drug and alcohol testing. Limited food prep/service Responds to individual needs of passengers and report any issues to a supervisor. Utilizes two-way radio to contact base when necessary while bus driving. Provides supervision and assists passengers on the bus during loading and unloading of vehicle at designated stops. Demonstrates safe and correct use of wheelchair lifts, seat belts, Q-Straints, etc. Demonstrates proper lifting techniques when transferring passengers from a wheel chair to the bus. Requirements Must be at least 18 years old. HS diploma/GED required and one year of experience or an equivalent amount of education and experience. No moving violations for 12 Months prior to hire. Valid NYS Commercial Driver's License class C with unrestricted Passenger Endorsement or willing to acquire within thirty days of hire. Must be Department of Motor Vehicles 19‑A certifiable.
