We service clients from the company's 12,000 sq. ft. facility in downtown Cleveland, where our highly talented team strive to deliver a truly unique and memorable experience from start to finish. Marigold is a preferred caterer at some of Cleveland's most popular venues, such as the renowned The Glidden House. In addition, Marigold is the exclusive caterer at The Cleveland Botanical Garden in the esteemed University Circle and Marigold's very own Tenk West Bank has become a popular space in Cleveland which hosts weddings and other extravagant events. POSITION SUMMARY Accurately and efficiently cook meats, fish, vegetables, soups and other hot food products as well as prepare and portion food products prior to cooking. Also perform other duties in the areas of food and final plate preparation including plating and garnishing of cooked items and preparing appropriate garnishes for all hot menu item plates. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to): Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces) Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef's instructions Clean up station and take care of leftover food Stock inventory appropriately Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers Follow all safety procedures for operating and cleaning all machinery at all times. Check in with Sous Chef at the beginning of shift for instructions. Inform management of any problems concerning food quality or production control. Follow "Clean as you work" policy; responsible for sanitation and cleanliness of station at all times. Maintain high standards of quality and appearance for all food prepared and served. Attend all kitchen employee meetings. Comply with nutrition, sanitation and food safety standards At the end of the shift, clean entire station, including reach-ins, shelves. Clean any kitchen equipment used immediately following its use. Perform other duties as assigned REQUIREMENTS Proven experience as cook Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.) Ability to follow all sanitation procedures Ability to work in a team High school diploma or equivalent; Diploma from a culinary school will be an advantage QUALIFATIONS Being able to work under pressure. Having strong communication skills. Being energetic. Having time management skills. Being creative. Being able to work with a team. Having good organizational skills.
