Position Highlights $15k Sign On Bonus Monday - Friday; (4) 10hr shifts 0700-1730 with rotating day off each week 8hr shift Saturday rotation required PTO Accrual on first day of month after start Benefits Eligible on first day of month after start 401k with employer match/Pension* The Cardiac Diagnostic Lab nurse will participate in noninvasive cardiac testing in both inpatient and outpatient locations such as the South Campus CDL, North Campus CDL, and upcoming new BJH ACB location. Strong clinical skills with critical care or cardiac background required. Primary duties of role include variety of cardiac stress testing that involves ECG interpretation, clinical assessment and management of complex cardiac conditions, and administration of IV medications/ imaging contrast. Additional Preferred Requirements 5+ years nursing experience with prior critical care or cardiac experience, ACLS or enrollment in course immediately upon hire Overview Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation's top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. Recognizing its excellence in nursing care, Barnes-Jewish Hospital was the first adult hospital in Missouri to be certified as a Magnet Hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.The Barnes-Jewish Hospital Cardiac Diagnostic Lab provides non-invasive diagnostic services to inpatient and outpatient populations in conjunction with our partners, Washington University Physicians. The department provides the following services to our patients: Transthoracic Echocardiograms (TTE), Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEE), Stress Echocardiograms, Nuclear Stress Tests, Treadmill Exercise Stress Tests, Event and Holter Monitors and EKG Processing. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care. Responsibilities Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment. Educates patients and their families on how to manage their illness or injury, including post treatment home care needs and medication administration. Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance. Participates in professional development. Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team and patient, family or caregiver in accordance with the established guidelines and standards of nursing care. Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care. Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care. Assess patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including their values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs.
