Nevada Heart and Vascular Center a leading Cardiology group in Southern Nevada is looking for a Cardiac Device Specialist. Job Title: Cardiac Device Specialist Department: Medical Staff Supervisor: Cardiac Device Supervisor/Nurse Manager Position Summary: The Cardiac Device Specialist (CDS) provides technical, clinical, and related services in the area of Electrophysiology and Cardiology relative to Cardiac Implantable Electronic Devices (CIED's) in the ambulatory setting. The CDS must possess the ability to setup, operate, and troubleshoot various CIED programmers and be proficient in deciphering complex Cardiac Device data elements. In collaboration with the Electrophysiology and Cardiology team, this role serves to provide quality patient care for accurate CIED management, arrhythmia interpretation, and device utilization for noninvasive arrhythmia termination protocols. Minimum Qualifications: Education and Experience High school diploma or GED. BA/BS degree in related field preferred. Minimum of 1 year full-time direct work experience or appropriate qualifications and experience in aligned training with demonstrated proficiency. Willing to train qualified candidate. Competent in rhythm interpretation. Some local travel required. General computer skills with working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and email applications. Detail-oriented with good analytical and organizational skills. Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work cohesively within a team environment. Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with patients/physicians and all levels of management. Job Knowledge Organization and time management to manage a variety of tasks effectively. Attention to detail to correctly identify patient issues and communicate difficulties with managers/physicians. Must have active listening skills during patient interactions. Should be a skilled critical thinker who can monitor patients and observe nuanced changes. Knowledge of basic medical terminology Ability to gather and interpret data. Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment. Essential Duties Greeting patients professionally both in person and on the phone. Performs in-office and remote management of all Cardiac Implantable Electronic Device analysis with appropriate programming changes to ensure optimum patient care, verifying that the patient's implanted device is functioning properly and adhering to the standards of cardiac care. Promotes excellent patient care by performing duties with a high degree of clinical acumen and independence. Monitors and manages daily remote alerts received. Works with leadership and physicians to establish, implement, and maintain policies while striving for continual improvement. Provides a method of detecting potential cardiac device abnormalities. Responsible for trouble-shooting cardiac devices Documents and updates medical records as required. Acts as a liaison between doctors, patients and device reps to ensure that all parties are informed to provide an optimal standard of care and safety for all patients. Responsible for answering patients questions regarding expectations, concerns, and general problems of all cardiac implantable devices. Serves as a resource for physicians, pacemaker techs, and other staff in the office. Working as a vital part of a team of medical professionals Follow all HIPAA regulations Assist with other clerical tasks as needed May refer to senior staff for assistance with higher-level problems that may arise. Escalates issues to the supervisor for resolution, as deemed necessary. Assist with various projects as assigned by the direct supervisor. Meets and exceeds short and long term goals as established for the department. Performs duties and job functions in accordance with the policies and procedures established for the department. Reports to work, meetings and professional obligations on time. Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars. Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to influence continuous improvements in department's efficiency and services performed. Takes ownership of special projects, researches data and follows through with detailed action plans. Actively participates in problem identification and resolution and coordinates resolutions between appropriate parties. Performs other related duties as required and assigned. Adheres to Corporate, Department and HR policies and procedures. Physical Requirements Employee is required to have visual and auditory acuity necessary for communications with other employees and/or customers to meet business needs of NHVC. Employee must be able to see written documentation and be able to speak and hear for communication with employees/customers. Ability to use a wide array of office equipment including, but not limited to a PC, copier, fax, multi-line telephone, etc. Employee is exposed to general indoor working conditions and may on occasion require light lifting or no greater than 20 pounds and some offsite travel.
