We are seeking applications for 1 full-time Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) to join the Stanford Cancer Survivorship Research Laboratory at the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University, led by Dr. Oxana Palesh. We are looking for candidates with a Bachelor’s degree or above in psychology, epidemiology, public health, neuroscience, human biology, or another related area with an interest in developing expertise in conducting behavioral clinical trials in cancer. Prior research experience, including interaction with human subjects, is required. Prior research experience or training in behavioral sleep medicine is a plus but is not essential. Clinical research experience is strongly desired. Candidates who are currently finishing up their degree but will graduate in the next few months may apply as well. The CRC will help run a clinical trial having to do with breast cancer and a form of CBT for insomnia. Job duties will include scheduling and executing study visits, recruiting human subjects for the study, conducting and scoring neuropsychological assessments, co-piloting MRI scans, putting study procedure materials together, making reminder phone calls, measuring participants’ heart rate variability, administering questionnaires, entering data, and other procedural tasks as needed. Additionally, the CRC will assist in scheduling and collecting blood samples from participants at a local laboratory, so the CRC must be comfortable with handling biological samples. Depending on the applicant’s interest, there will also be opportunities for poster presentations and papers co-authored with other research team members. Starting date: June, 2016. A 1-year minimum commitment is required.
