Title : CAD Technician Location: Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA Status: Full-Time Travel: Local/Regional Salary: $56,800 - $91,932 Position Summary: The CAD Technician operates computer aided design of projects. Coordinates with Project Managers on AutoCAD design drawings for architectural, electrical, mechanical, and engineering design. Supports multiple projects and assists with project scheduling as it relates to design. Will include field changes as they occur, red line mark ups and as build drawings upon project completion. Duties/Responsibilities: Assist in managing delivery order execution in accordance with contract requirements and project procedures. Attend pre-issuance site visits with project managers for each job order to review existing conditions and to determine client needs in detail. Assist Project Manager in developing the project scope of work as it relates to project design; including preliminary approximations of the types of materials to be used and basic quantity counts construction, progress, and other project meetings, and distributes minutes. Assist in project close-out by obtaining required documentation, assisting with pre-final inspections and As-Built drawings. Ensure compliance with all company Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) guidelines and procedures along with all local requirements (OSHA, USACE EM385.1.1, etc.). Must have an Uncompromising Commitment to Safety . Other duties as assigned. Requirements: Associates degree in Construction Management, Architectural Technology, or related field highly desired. 2+ years of experience in the construction industry with a commercial or industrial general contractor. Construction means and methods. Principles, methods, and techniques of architectural, civil, mechanical, and/or electrical engineering. Familiarity with detailed fixed price estimates and the ability to use RS Means or other published unit price books. Strong ability to: Adapt and be flexible to frequent changes in a fast-paced work environment. Collaborate and work effectively in a team environment with people of various backgrounds and styles. Strong verbal and written communication skills, to include clear, concise, and professional presentation of information. Adapt to the constantly evolving world of technology, design, means and methods, systems may include but not limited to: Microsoft Office suite, ProCore, Adobe, and BlueBeam. Physical Demands: The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job: Ability to walk terrain and surfaces that may be far, uneven, or temporary. Ability to regularly sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear. Ability to frequently use hands to finger, handle or feel. Ability to occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, squat, or reach. Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment: Performance of the required job duties will be in an office environment along with visits to sites that are under construction which may include various weather conditions.
