McMillen, Inc is a full-service engineering, environmental, and construction firm in the transportation, heavy civil, water resources, hydropower, and fisheries markets. We are able to contribute to a project at the planning stage, navigate the regulatory requirements, develop a design, manage and self-perform construction, start-up, and commissioning. Our CAD Designers are immersed in the fast-paced Water Resources Engineering environment, often requiring creative designs to solve complex design problems. Frequent coordination and communication with design engineers is essential to solving problems, improving processes, and completing projects on time. We are currently seeking entry level drafters to join our growing team. Ideal candidates for these roles will have at least 2 years of experience preparing and developing clear, complete, and accurate designs. Project components will utilize one or a combination of these software: Civil 3D, Revit, and/or AutoCAD. Visa sponsorship, including renewal during employment, will not be provided for this position. Responsibilities: Analyze engineering sketches, specifications, related data, and drawings to determine design factors such as size, shape, and arrangement of parts. Create 3D solid models and supporting production ready drawings; checking dimension of parts, materials to be used, and relation of various parts to whole structure or project. Ensure project design standards are adhered to by following published internal Standards as well as common international standards. Modify project designs to correct operating deficiencies. Read and interpret standard Engineering drawings in Imperial and Metric units. Create multi-view drawings with Dimension and tolerancing in accordance with modern design practice and standards. Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; gather and analyze information skillfully; participate in group problem solving situations. Other assignments, tasks or special projects as needed to support department efficiency and productivity. Workload: Must be able to manage multiple assignments, remain highly organized, and produce products at a fast pace, while maintaining high quality standards. Project Background: Preferred candidates will have worked on water treatment plants, pump stations, fish hatcheries, hydropower facilities, and dams. Qualifications: Technical or vocation program completion with focus in design and drafting; AA/AS preferred Minimum 2 years experience as a Drafter. Highly proficient in one or a combination of these software: Civil 3D, Revit, and AutoCAD Previous experience with Autodesk Vault is a plus Must have good technical writing and professional communication skills. Proficiency with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Ability to work within an office setting to gain experience needed to grow.
