(operating as KB Rugs) Corporate Office: 1425 Dundas Street East, Mississauga, ON, L4X 2W4 Work Location: 1425 Dundas Street East, Mississauga, ON, L4X 2W4 Start Date: ASAP Type of Position: Full time, permanent Positions Available: 1 Hours per Week: 40 Salary: $60,000 – $70,000 / year (To be negotiated) Benefits: • 10 days vacation• Group insurance benefits Language• English Education• Completed college/CEGEP or university degree Experience• Minimum of 2 years of experience in product procurement for carpet/rug retail store• Experience procuring carpet/rugs from Asia, Europe or the Middle East Transportation/Travel Information• Willing to travel regularly• Travel expenses paid by employer Work Setting• Retail business Business Equipment and Computer Applications• MS Excel• MS Outlook• MS Power Point• MS Word Geographical Areas of Specialization• Carpets/rugs from Asia, South East Asia and Europe (including Pakistan, India, Iran, Afghanistan, Turkey and Belgium) General Skills and Duties Specific Skills• Establish and maintain contact with suppliers• Maintain adequate stock levels• Negotiate prices, discounts, credit terms and transportation arrangements of carpets/rugs with foreign suppliers• Oversee distribution of merchandise to outlets• Review requirements of establishment and determine quantity and type of merchandise to purchase• Select and purchase merchandise for resale• Study market reports, trade periodicals and sales promotion materials • Visit trade shows, showrooms, factories and product design events Additional Skills and Duties• Select the merchandise to be stocked and purchased, including the type and quantity of products to be procured • Expand the number of store products and build business opportunities with overseas suppliers • Work closely with suppliers and store employees to ensure timely deliveries and maintaining optimal inventory level and product quality • Analyze financial results, conduct variance.
