Job DescriptionJob SummaryBuyer must work as a member of the purchasing team along with internal customers to source and procure materials and services with the ability to expedite purchase orders when necessary. The Buyer must possess the ability to collect and analyze information leading to data driven decision making.Job Responsibilities * Reviews requisitions, purchase orders, and Oracle data for accuracy and conformance with established policies and procedures. * Obtains oral and/or written quotations from suppliers as needed or directed. * Expedites purchase orders when necessary and notifies requestors of the expected delivery dates and follows up on back orders. * Maintains accurate supplier/department files. * Utilizes alternative supply sources to fill orders as directed. * Identifies alternate suppliers when there are material shortages or longer than required lead-times. * Meets with suppliers seeking to establish relationships with Zeus. Reviews materials presented and forwards the information to the appropriate purchasing team members along with recommendations for further consideration. * Buyer works with Corporate Quality Assurance Engineer to ensure suppliers and the products they supply meet the requirements of the Zeus Quality Management System set forth by procedures, policies and specifications. * Performs daily maintenance of Oracle Item Catalog and maintain up-to-date pricing and supplier information ensuring immediate and accurate access to information in Iprocurement. * Analyze inventory transactions, recommend min/max targets and follows corporate guidelines in order to maintain adequate inventory levels. Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in a related field required. * 2-3 years of related experience preferred. * Proficient with Microsoft Office with an emphasis in Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point. . * Ability to work cooperatively as a member of the purchasing team along with a focus on continuous improvement. * Well-organized, high attention to detail, and able to carry out assignments with moderate supervision. * Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and problem-solving skills essential About Us Zeus Industrial Products, headquartered in Orangeburg, South Carolina, is the world's leading polymer extrusion manufacturer and material science innovator.
