Position Title : Business Services Supervisor REPORTS TO : Business Services Manager SUPERVISES: Business Services Specialists JOB STATUS : Exempt JOB GRADE 10: $48,531.38 - $72,797.08 Annually JOB SUMMARY : The primary focus of the Business Services Supervisor will be to supervise the Business Services Specialist team, assist business members, and support commercial lending staff. The Business Services Supervisor will be required to demonstrate expertise with all business products, services, policies, procedures, and systems. DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES: Train, onboard, and evaluate the job performance of direct reports to ensure high quality standards are maintained. Work with management to set performance goals and manage daily workflows to meet department objectives. Assist Commercial Loan Specialists and provide system support, which may include loan bookings, loan calculations, and other support, as needed. Proactively manages business member relationships by identifying their financial needs, delivering solutions to meet those needs, and providing excellent member service. Originate and manage member business loan (MBL) accounts. Interview applicants, collect financial and related data to establish creditworthiness; when necessary, negotiate credit terms and monitor borrower's creditworthiness and repayment activities. Input and maintain SBA loan requests in accordance to policies and procedures. Assume responsibilities of the Business Services Manager during their absence. Acquire new and build existing business relationships by taking a consultative approach through calling efforts, cross-selling, networking, and partnering with Credit Union staff. Represent the Credit Union in a courteous and professional manner and provide prompt, efficient and accurate service. Cross-sell, open, and service all types of deposit accounts and services including business checking/savings accounts, consumer accounts (when needed), and business services such as ACH/Wire Origination, Merchant Services, etc. Complete the appropriate documents, scan to proper, applications, and provide required disclosures per regulations and procedures. Provide in-person and by telephone/web conference, general, and specific service-related information concerning credit union services or policies. Research and resolve member account issues, respond to member's requests, problems, and complaints, and/or directs them to the proper person for specific information and services. Keep abreast of local market offerings and pricing of business products and services. Participate in community events to increase the Credit Union's visibility and to enhance new business opportunities. Educate business members, prospects, and Credit Union staff regarding business products and services, such as deposit accounts, merchant services, and small business loans. Partner with other departments to identify appropriate prospects and target markets to ensure continued growth of Business Services and Member Business Lending. Serve as the subject matter expert for all business products and services. Understand compliance issues and regulations and attend training as directed or required. Performs other duties as assigned. EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE: Education or experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in related field, in addition to 2 years of business financial services experience. Experience serving the needs of businesses of varying size and complexity is required. Some financial institution experience is preferred. QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrate excellent listening, written, and presentational skills, with the ability to deliver concise and effective messaging to a variety of audiences. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Exceptional relationship building, networking, and member-first mindset. Excellent sales, customer service, and interpersonal skills. Thorough knowledge of Business Member products, services, and referrals (i.e. lending). Patience, tact, enthusiasm and positive attitude toward the members, staff, and the general public. Ability to coach, mentor, and develop staff. Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and organizational skills. Those in a leadership role are expected to participate in company meetings, community events, and similar engagements as ambassadors to the organization and its mission. These include voluntary and involuntary events that although ordinarily will be during business hours, does include weekends and evenings as announced. Job Related Travel - As required. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be capable to execute all terms and conditions set forth in the Employee Handbook, including but not limited to: Works in a safety conscious manner which ensures that safe work practices are used in order not to pose a risk to self or others in the workplace. Adheres to policy on Drug Free Workplace. Complies with company policies and procedures and local, state and federal regulations. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Physical Demands - Requires sitting for long periods of time, some standing, walking, kneeling, stooping, bending, lifting, grasping and fine hand coordination. Visual and aural acuity required. Finger and hand dexterity required. Must be able to lift 15 pounds maximum, with occasional lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Requires ability to remain calm under stressful situations.
