Responsibilities Job Description Summary The Business Excellence Engineer is the primary role responsible for leading the Business Excellence, Continuous Improvement and Change to Win initiatives for the Zelienople site.The Business Excellence Engineer should possess strong leadership and influencing skills to help drive the site Continuous Improvement Culture and Lean Programs. The Business Excellence Engineer will also be capable of developing and rolling out continuous improvement programs and initiatives for the site to drive improved Business results.The Business Excellence Engineer will be primarily responsible for successful execution of identified new Change to Win projects, product introductions and transfers. Key Responsibilities Assure compliance of facility to all appropriate Quality, Safety, Environmental, Labor and Financial Regulations by partnering with respective area EngineersDefine and implement structured Plant CI and Lean Programs and goals to align with Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People (SQDCP).Participates in developing plant vision and strategies and promotes & communicates plant vision, strategies, goals & metrics, and works collaboratively with all functions to assist in developing standard work and governance of the management system.Manages & executes on new product development activities, manufacturing transfers and CTW pipelinesOwns and simplifies existing transfer processes Reports out on Project Phases and statusBuilds and drives execution on Change to Win funnel projectsServes as Continuous Improvement (CI) subject matter expertDevelop and champion CI culture and StrategyCoordinate Lean Manufacturing and Lean Administration activities on site.Develop standardized work for the various layers of site management and administrative staff.Promotes environment of continuous improvement using lean principles and toolsConducts Value Stream Mapping to understand how value and costs accrue along the value chain with a goal of eliminating waste and simplifying product flow.Owns deployment of BD Production System for BDZRegularly engage with expanded network or practitioners across BD; share best practices and benchmarking.Teach, coach and demonstrate proficiency in BDPS (BD Production System) concepts and systemic approach, including strategy development & deployment (SDD), core components, Zero Loss mindset and all related methodologies / tools. Responsible to collaborate within and/or across the Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) Operations organization to teach, implement and sustain the Production System principles and framework to create a culture of engagement towards the BDPS and Zero Loss (ZL) vision and missions.Responsible to develop, implement and maintain report both accurate, timely and transparent performance metrics and reporting for CI and Product Transfer ActivitiesLead and deliver significant tangible business results with improvements to product quality, process and business process efficiency. Take a lead role in all continuous improvement projects at site covering profit improvement project, capacity expansion project and automations.Work closely with the site management team to drive continuous improvement projects using appropriate problem solving and improvement road maps i.e Six Sigma, VSM, Kaizen, Lean manufacturing, SMED, SWOT Analysis, etc.This job description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for their job.
