T he Building Superintendent will be required to be on call for tenant emergencies 24 hours while on duty. Our services include emergency food transitional housing and education for homeless and street-involved youth; hospice palliative care; community mental health programs; and supportive housing programs. We are committed to integrating Harm Reduction practices into our programs and to prioritizing the rights, dignity, and choices of those who use substances. By integrating a Harm Reduction framework at Good Shepherd, we can decrease barriers to service and better support some of our community's most marginalized members. This opportunity is with our Good Shepherd - Housing Department How You Will Make an Impact Primary duties include, but not limited to: Handling the general custodial duties and maintenance of the property that ensures that floors, common areas, elevators and staircases are clean. Responding to maintenance requests and service calls. Performing daily inspection checks on the building systems. Maintain Fire Safety Logs and follow all the protocols as per the Fire Safety Code. Ensuring regular garbage removal and recycling pickup occurs in an efficient manner. Capable of properly caulking tubs, sinks, countertops, etc. Maintain positive and strong relations with tenants. Delivering letters and notices to residents as required. Handling turnover of apartments, ensuring they are cleaned and ready to show prospective residents. Monitoring inventory control of supplies and equipment Snow removal to seasonal exterior ground maintenance. Performing any other duties as requested What You'll Bring to Our Team Completion of high school diploma or equivalent experience in a similar role.
