Position: Building Information Modeling (BIM) Specialist Work location: Novi, MI Wage: $115,800 - $150,000 / per year* Job Duties: Plan and design structures, such as private residences, office buildings, theaters, factories, and other structural property. Design, implement and test Building Information Modeling (BIM) interoperability software solutions in the Architecture, Engineering, Construction and manufacturing workflows. Build and deliver Building Information Modeling data exchange components and features, test systems and strategies during the software development cycle and assure quality of data translators for Autodesk products including Revit, Civil3D, Inventor, AutoCAD, BIM360 and cloud services. Design Building Information Modeling tools used to build construction plans that leverage aesthetic representations of structures, and details for construction. Help design and build computer-aided design (CAD/CAE) tools that prepare scale drawings or architectural designs. Participate in design reviews and provide input and feedback to other members of the development team. Create documents and diagrams to outline relationships between subsystems and participate in reviews of those designs. Drive cross-team collaboration and coordination with stakeholders to ensure reliable, secure, available and scalable releases. Coach and mentor less experienced Building Information Modeling specialists. Investigate and analyze existing features of Architecture, Engineering and Construction software and advise on implementation strategy for new features. Advise the team on typical Architecture, Engineering and Construction workflows to drive better design and decision making in the team. Test and validate BIM workflow to ensure it fits the expectation of AEC conventions and expectations of the users. Train the team on relevant Architecture, Engineering and Construction concepts, workflows & pain points. Minimum Requirements: Masters degree in Architecture, Computer Science or related field and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or in a BIM -related occupation. Special Requirements: Position requires at least three (3) years of experience in each of the following skills: 1. Knowledge in the Building Information Modeling (BIM) process used in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction industry2. Knowledge in Python programming to develop automation scripts3. Knowledge in Architecture, Engineering and Construction design, coordination & collaboration process4. Knowledge in BIM and parametric design workflows in the following software: Revit, Navisworks, Civil3D, ArchiCAD, Rhino & Bentley products5. Knowledge in software APIs to develop custom plugins in Architecture, Engineering and Construction industry6. Knowledge in C# or C++ Programming to design, develop and debug custom workflows in Architecture, Engineering and Construction7. Knowledge in AutoCAD *The starting base salary range for this role is reflected above. Salary is one part of Autodesks competitive package.
