The Bohemian Grove is situated on 2,700 acres of towering redwood forest in the lower Russian River Valley in Sonoma County. For more than 150 years Club members and their guests have ventured to the Grove to enjoy and partake in the arts, music, literature and drama as well as nature walks and fine dining. Come spend the summer working in this unique and beautiful environment. We offer flexible schedules and excellent hourly wages for a summer only commitment. 2023 Bohemian Grove Events dates: Spring Jinks - Monday, June 5th - Sunday, June 11th Spring Picnic - June 24th Encampment - Monday, July 10th - Sunday, July 30th The Bohemian Grove art gallery attendant has many varied roles within the gallery including, but not limited to, greeting and welcoming members to view the gallery's temporary summer exhibit, providing information and assisting exhibitors and gallery guests in the availability of collecting member art. The attendant also makes sure the artwork is carefully unpacked, placed and protected and that visitors follow the gallery rules. Administrative duties include: maintaining records and inventories of art on display, arranging shipping when needed, packing of art for shipment. Duties: Gallery Management and Maintenance · Perform other duties as directed. Maintain Supplies Inventory · Maintain adequate working inventory of office and shipping supplies. Place orders for supplies as needed. Art Inventory · Input and print out Gallery Price Lists for Ice House Opening · Update back page of Price List daily, writing down changes (replace old piece sold with new piece info) · Update on computer and print out Price Lists on Middle and Final Wednesday for the weekends Shipping/Packaging Framed Art · Arrange to have crates opened w/carpenter · Unpack art from boxes and place where to be hung · Store shippers (boxes, crates) in specialized locations for reuse · Prepare art for pick up by buyer (bubble wrap) Record Keeping · Fill out Art Vouchers on gallery guest's interest in a piece of art · Record how/when to receive art Maintain Gallery Appearance · Place all Daily Business paperwork in Daily Activity Folder on desk · Change Art Tags for new pieces hung · Keep inside of gallery and entrance presentable Qualifications: · Gallery experience a plus and/or experience in handling art (receiving and shipping). · Working knowledge of basic math, English grammar, writing, and spelling · Ability to convey and receive detailed or important instructions or information · Have excellent interpersonal skills, and be able to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds · Maintain a high degree of confidentiality · Represent the Bohemian Grove to Members, Guests and vendors in a professional manner · Ability to use computer applications such as spreadsheets ,word processing, calendar, email and database software · Ability to establish and maintain effective, professional working relationships with Members and Guests, employees, vendors and the general public · Stand and/or sit for extended periods of time, up to eight hours per day · Perform occasional bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching · Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull up to 25 lbs. on an occasional basis · Able to work flexible and/or late night hours as needed Hours of Operation and General Shift Information: Monday through Sunday - 32 hours a week during the event season Job Posted by ApplicantPro
