JOB SUMMARY The Bake/PI Manager has the overall responsibility of managing the Bake/Rebake and Pitch Impregnation departments. This position manages a diverse workforce to meet Company objectives for safety, quality, productivity and cost targets. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Attain production objectives in compliance with all safety, legal, environmental, and internal policies/requirements. Collaborate with the Technical Department to optimize product and process quality and efficiency within the Bake and PI departments. Plan and manage to ensure adequate resource availability (people, materials, methods, and machines) to support planned production requirements. Use methodical problem-solving methodologies to drive continuous improvement in the Bake/PI departments with regards to safety, quality, cost, and customer service. Coordinate preventative and breakdown maintenance of Bake/PI equipment with the Maintenance department. Control and validate quality of products manufactured. Compile and analyze department data on production, cost, quality, maintenance, and safety. Safeguard all company property; ensure that all tools and equipment are in good operating condition and that all work areas are neat, orderly, and safe. Develop department through recruiting, employee performance evaluations, training and development. Develop annual departmental budget and CAPEX needs. Perform other duties as required. COMPETENCIES · Strong analysis/problem solving skills and good mathematical skills, with the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. · Proven track record in taking initiative, working well in a team environment, and solving complex problems. · Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills. · Knowledge of integrated business systems (Microsoft Dynamics preferred). · Knowledge of Six Sigma. · Training in 5S methodology.
