Main St., New Albany, IN 47150 The Exchange Pub & Kitchen – Back of House (Student) Job Description The Exchange Pub & Kitchen is seeking energetic Back of House Support to assist in providing an excellent guest experience. We invite you to join our professional staff providing our guests delicious, innovative food and drink in an environment of warmth and relaxed hospitality where our guests are treated like family! Back of House (Student) Position Summary: Back of House Support ensure the highest quality food is served at all times. The ideal candidate will accept responsibility for all aspects of their kitchen duties and cooking station – sets up and stocks product, cleans, sanitizes and maintains equipment, utensils and tools. Responsibilities: Responsible for the promotion of a safe and professional workplace.Follows sanitation standards and procedures complying with legal regulations.Production of hot and cold dishes according to predetermined recipes. Portioning and attractive preparation of dishes. Provides foodstuff and utensils for Kitchen management by carrying pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from workstations, stoves, and refrigerators.Maintains food quality by storing foods in designated areas, minimizing spoilage.Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions. Troubleshoots breakdowns, maintains supplies, and performs preventative maintenance.Maintains appropriate levels of needed dishes and utensils.Segregating and removing waste.Participates in recycling, waste reduction, and energy and water conservation. Requirements: Minimum 16 years of age.High school graduate or equivalent is preferred.1-year kitchen/prep experience preferred.Customer focused.Be flexible with schedule, work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.Reliable transportation required.Ability to be on your feet and alert for extended periods of time.Ability to carry 35 pounds as needed and carry trays as needed.
